If the
answer is yes, look for a consultant who has a degree in Entomology and several years of field experience. The college education
is important, but so is actual field work. Nothing beats hands on experience to handle your insect management.
DO I
NEED A CONSULTANT WITH IRRIGATION AND FERTILITY MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE?
A consultant who does more than bug checking and
who helps you with irrigation and fertility can be an asset. If this is what you need, look for a degree in Entomology and
Agronomy, field experience and a good track record with fertility and irrigation management.
DO I NEED A CONSULTANT
TO ASSIST WITH MY TOTAL CROP MANAGEMENT PLAN?
Growers who upgrade to a full service consultant find him or her to be a
great asset. A full service consultant should have degrees in Entomology, Agronomy or other Ag related fields; be certified
by a national consultants organization;a member of a state organization; and should hold a current TDA non-commercial applicators
license as well as Worker Protection training certification.
